The Opportunity
Samaritans Youth Services provides an extensive range of services to disadvantaged young people, with a particular emphasis on those at risk. Services include residential support, outreach, early intervention and activities, employment, out of home care, family and group work, work with schools and information and referral.
Samaritans’ Youth Workers are responsible to provide a safe and supportive environment for all associated with the service and guarantee flexible and quality service to young people.

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary Certificate in Youth Work/Community Welfare/Social Work and/or equivalent experience.
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, morning 7am - 3.30pm, Afternoon 3pm - 11pm + Sleepover until 7am, including weekends
- Demonstrated capacity to utilise a strengths-based and trauma informed care approach in supporting young people experiencing disadvantage
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to child protection legislation
- Demonstrated positive communication and conflict resolution skills
- Commitment to the rights and responsibilities of young people
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to work within a team
- Understanding and commitment to WH&S principles and guidelines
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, Criminal History Check, Drivers Licence, first aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
