Part-time (Maximum Term), 60 hours fortnight Paid at SCHADS Award Level 5.1 About the opportunityThe role of the Therapeutic Family Practitioner is to provide therapeutic interventions and support to children, young people and their families to prevent homelessness, stabilise a young person’s living situation and improve levels of engagement with family, education and their local community. The Therapeutic Family Practitioner will provide counselling, mediation, group work and practical support to whole families to help break the cycle of homelessness.Why Work for us? Access to over 300+ gyms with the Fitness Passport Program Free access to our corporate Employee Assistance Program Paid parental leave (after 12 months of service) About youTertiary qualification in social work or similar.Knowledge and understanding of the child protection framework within NSW, including Safe Home for Life and Domestic and Family Violence reform initiatives.A commitment to social justice, addressing the rights and responsibilities of children and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.Knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development and the impact of complex trauma on children and families.Experience and highly developed skills in assessment, family mediation, counselling and conflict resolution techniques with vulnerable children and families.Excellent knowledge, understanding and experience working with parents and children with complex needs who are at risk of homelessness.Experience writing clinical documentation, case notes, treatment plans and case plans.The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, First aid & CPR certificate, and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
