
Quantity Surveyor/Project Administrator
The Opportunity:
Newcastle Anglican have an exciting opportunity for a Project Administrator to join the Property Services team. Reporting to the Director of Project Delivery you predominantly use a capital works portfolio management system to administer, monitor and report on multiple capital works projects managed by the organisation.
This role involves project forecasting, cost control, quality assurance, risk coordination, coordination across all project elements, reporting on all project elements, procurement, financial reporting and assisting with project management to ensure successful delivery of capital projects.

What are we looking for?
- Assist in the preparation of cost forecasts for capital works projects with internal and external project resources.
- Utilize the capital works portfolio management system to track project budgets, expenditures, timelines, safety, quality, contracts etc.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project cost reports and forecasts.
- Monitor project costs and identify potential budget overruns, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Support the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
- Perform risk management by analysing and assessing potential project risks and providing recommendations to mitigate them.
- Assist with the evaluation of tenders and preparation of tender reports.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective cost control and project delivery.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to project specifications and budgets.
- Assist in the resolution of any financial or contractual issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial and project status reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to quantity surveying and capital works projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Capital Projects Team.
About you?
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or construction management (or currently underway)
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction projects.
- Previous experience in quantity surveying, preferably within capital works or construction projects (internships or work placements considered).
- Proficiency in using capital works portfolio management systems or cost estimation software.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
