
Manager of Housing and Real Estate
The Opportunity:
Newcastle Anglican is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Manager of Housing & Real Estate to join our dynamic Property team. Reporting to the Director of Property Services you will take the lead in developing and implementing a strategic property plan for Anglican Care Independent Living Units and Samaritans housing and rental properties.
This is a Fixed Term 12 month contract.

What are we looking for?
- Streamline processes and procedures to enhance service delivery effectiveness and efficiency, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Lead and supervise a small team
- Work with the team to develop, document and implement the operational plan for housing and real estate which establishes planned action for:
- maintaining property, plant and equipment,
- leasing,
- facilities management,
- highest and best of property
- acquisition and disposal.
- Oversee and support the team with parish property matters.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant law relating to Community Housing, Retirement Villages, Residential and Commercial tenancies.
- Working with the team to ensure risk management of the housing and property portfolio.
- Provision of high quality, accurate, timely advice, reports and recommendations to the Executive Director Infrastructure Services, Director of Property Services, Executive Leadership Team, Board and Bishop.
About you?
- Tertiary qualifications in Property Management, Real Estate and/or extensive industry experience
- National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
- Australian work rights
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
- NDIS Workers Clearance or willingness to obtain
- Current drivers licence
- Experience with Social Housing and/or an understanding of the regulatory issues for Community Housing Providers
- Experience in Retirement Living management and legislative obligations and/or an understanding of the regulatory issues under the Retirement Villages Act.
- Demonstrated experience in a residential and/or commercial property management environment with better than standard knowledge of tenancy management systems and processes.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, including the ability to ensure resources are optimally allocated to meet goals and achieve agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrated communication skills in the provision of excellent customer service in effectively liaising, consulting, negotiating and resolving issues of conflict with internal and external customers.
