
Maintenance Officer
The Opportunity:
Newcastle Anglican are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join the team on a permanent Full Time basis. You will be responsible for undertaking maintenance duties across all Newcastle Anglican properties, including painting, repairs, equipment servicing, minor construction and alteration works.

What are we looking for?
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on buildings, facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning and address any issues promptly.
- Address maintenance and grounds duties on a day-to-day basis adhering to schedule or as advised by your Supervisor.
- Monitor buildings, facilities and grounds for safety and/or compliance concerns and address concerns promptly or escalate as required.
- Provide feedback to Supervisor on future maintenance and grounds requirements for each property.
- With approval from Supervisor, manage and coordinate contractors as required who are performing maintenance on Newcastle Anglican properties.
- Inspect and maintain equipment in a clean and tidy condition and ensure regular service takes place. Where such is outside the technical capacity or qualifications, escalate to your Supervisor and support in procuring contracted trades for the external repair/services required.
- Undertake required administrative work, including maintaining accurate records of repairs, inspections, work completed. Effective use of Mex service work workflows.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe and professional manner.
- Proactive communication of potential disruption to services and liaising with residents where this may occur.
- Provide after hours on call services and manage the provision of after hours emergency services where required, on a scheduled rotation.
- Adherence with all road rules whilst driving Newcastle Anglican vehicles, as well as driving in a safe and courteous manner.
- Additional duties as reasonably required by Manager.
About you?
- Demonstrated experience working in an associated trade / general maintenance works.
- Demonstrated competence in programmed, reactive and preventative maintenance.
- Demonstrated competence using basic computer applications.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant trade. (Desirable)
- Current Working at Heights ticket. (Desirable)
- Current White Card to work safely in the NSW construction industry (Desirable)
- Experience working with a diverse range of people, in particular aged, people with a disability, and the general community.
- Current drivers licence.
- A current Working with Children check (with clearance to work with children).
- National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).
- NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
