To be a wonderful aged care nurse, you require compassion and dedication. Jessica Robinson, one of our Care Assistant’s at Kilpatrick Court, has both along with a drive to succeed.
A recipient of our June Flett Scholarship, Jessica combines work and studies, as she follows her chosen career path to become a Registered Nurse. Nursing is in the family she says,
‘My mum was a nurse and I’ve always wanted to do the same and work in aged care. I’m hooked on aged care’.
Jessica looked on from her nearby home in Toronto as Kilpatrick Court took shape and prophesied that one day she’d work there. She was right. February of last year, after completing her studies to be a Care Assistant, Jessica joined the team at Kilpatrick Court.
“I love older people and consider it to be an honour to spend time with them”, explains Jessica.
Whilst continuing her studies to be a Registered Nurse, Jessica has used the funds awarded to her through the June Flett Scholarship to subside her wage during placement and pay for practical things such as work shoes, a laptop and textbooks of which she says, without the scholarship she wouldn’t be able to afford.
