Maintenance & Grounds OfficerThe Opportunity:We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Maintenance & grounds officer to come join our vibrant, dynamic and driven team, based at our Head office in Booragul Newcastle. This position is within our Property Services department and reports directly to the Maintenance and Minor Works Manager. As a part of the team, you have access to the following great benefits:Salary packaging options (up to $611/fortnight)Career and development opportunitiesAccess to Fitness PassportFree access to our corporate Employee Assistance ProgramFlexible working options (including RDO’s & 9-day fortnights) Role & Responsibilities: Undertaking maintenance duties contributing to the effective running of Newcastle Anglican, including but not limited to repairs, painting, minor construction and alteration works, gardening and grounds works, and general handyman duties.Ensuring equipment and premises are maintained in a safe and sound condition.Address grounds duties such as maintenance of garden beds including pruning, weeding, fertilising, replanting, mulching and hedging as requiredAssist generally in the maintenance and operational functions of the organisation on a day-to-day basis as directed.Inspect, arrange and administer all repairs and/or maintenance to tools and equipment and ensure all repairs are recorded accuratelyMaintain all hard services, exposed aggregate paths, courtyards every two years.Clean all car park and driveway areas on each site attendanceInspect, arrange and administer all repairs and/or maintenance to tools and equipment and ensure all repairs are recorded accuratelyNo mowing requiredAccept routine and emergency call rostering and overtime as required About you?Demonstrated experience and knowledge in general maintenance and ground keepingExperience maintaining similar machinery/equipment to those used in our servicesCurrent First Aid CertificateCurrent Working at Heights ticket (Desirable) & Working with Children’s check (or willing to obtain)National Police Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes).Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry legislation that relates to buildings e.g., building codes, plant and services e.g., fire systemsKnowledge of Work Health and Safety and general trade induction processes e.g., safe work method statements, hot works permits (Desirable) Who we are?
