With an ability to multi task, and support the cooks, kitchen assistants, kitchen hands and service assistants as required. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques, along with stock control and ordering is also important.The Chef is required to; ensure the food safety program and procedures are adhered, maintain quality standards of all work performed and be part of a positive working environment.This position is applicable to all catering division kitchens, currently located at Boolaroo and Scenic Lodge Merewether. The Chef will be assigned as required depending on the operation demands of the department.Essential:Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30813)Proven working experience as a chef in a large scale kitchen environmentDemonstrated commercial cookery experience, including ordering and stock controlAbility to work as part of a flexible, multi-skilled team and individuallyExperience in providing support to all kitchen staff in cooking, food safety and cleaning dutiesAbility to recognize and communicate problems efficientlyCapable of handling multiple tasks and manage resources to meet competing deadlines and prioritiesExcellent communication and customer service skills including internal and external customersEffective written and verbal communication skillsAt Anglican Care our skilled and caring people are the most important resources we have.
