COVID-19 Update for all residents, families and friends – December 18

Hello there!

Our residents have already experienced quite a significant amount of change at Scenic Lodge, Kilpatrick Court, CA Brown Village, and Jesmond Grove because a small number of people who work with us have tested positive for COVID-19.

As soon as we heard this news, we put in place the measures we use to make sure that our residents are safe. Our staff are wearing protective equipment to reduce the risk of any infection and we have limited the number of visitors to each facility.

Whenever there is a COVID-19 outbreak we work closely with the Commonwealth and State Government authorities who monitor what is happening. They provide us with advice and direction. We also have a team that is meeting regularly to check our response and make improvements whenever we can.

There is a lot of COVID-19 in the community but because of the COVID-19 vaccination rates the risk of people getting sick is greatly reduced.

I want to let you know that there is now one resident at Kilpatrick Court who has tested positive for COVID-19. They live in the Taylor Wing on Level One. They are showing no symptoms and appear fully well.

Whenever there is news about a resident contracting COVID-19 we have to change our management. We introduce what is called ‘Red Zones’ which remind staff to take even greater precautions. We are awaiting further advice from relevant authorities.

If there is further news we will communicate this to you as quickly as we can.

We have been assured of the prayers and care of the Anglican community.
