Aged Care Pay Rise to Benefit Older Australians

Newcastle Anglican, together with our agency Anglican Care welcomes the recent Fair Work Commission decision to award an interim pay increase for aged care workers.

Our staff continues to work tirelessly to ensure that older Australians are treated with respect, dignity, and the highest level of care possible. This recognition signifies an important step in the right direction for the role that aged care workers play in our community.

Toby Mills, Anglican Care’s Acting Executive Director of People Care reacted to the pay increase for aged care workers by commenting that “It is excellent to see that the value that care workers, registered nurses, hospitality and auxiliary staff provide through enhancing the lives of elderly people is finally being recognised.”
